Abstract


Job Satisfaction and Wellbeing of Employees' Providing Social Services in Government Institutions: The Istanbul Case

The study is based on a quantitative research that aims to examine the determinants of job satisfaction for staff of the Istanbul Branch andSubordinate Bodiesof The Ministry of Family and Social Polices (MFSP) in 2014. The research has conducted to determine the factors affecting the employees' job satisfaction and motivation as well as to test interactions with them by asking original questions on demographic, socio-economic, employee's rights and social services issues.

In empirical section of the study, descriptive statistics and multivariate linear regression analysis have been conducted. Result section of the study offer evaluations and policy recommendations for improving the quality of the social services. The findings indicate that job satisfaction is not evenly distributed among participants. Besides, the job satisfaction and wellbeing of employee's are affected by socio-demographic characteristics and health status. It is a very complicated process to ensure job satisfaction and job satisfaction’s getting affected by social elements has great importance. In this context, the results of this study are expected to contribute development of new policies that would improve thejob satisfaction of social workers and increase the quality of social services provided by MFSP.
